Look no further, Ed is everything you would want in a home inspector. The first time we used Ed he saved us from purchasing a home with severe termite damage. In our most recent accepted offer, we called in Ed again. He got us on the schedule within days to keep the momentum of our deal moving. Ed is thorough, takes his time, explains everything in detail and produces an exhaustive report that is very intuitive. He is extremely professional, very responsive and always on time. He answers questions throughout the process and goes above and beyond to look out for his clients. Not only is he great at what he does, he is very down to earth and great to be around during what can be a stressful process. I can sleep well at night knowing Ed has inspected my home.

Inspector Ed is the best in the biz! He was able to inspect the condo I'm buying within just a few days of my initial reach out. He was extremely knowledgeable as well as respectful of the space and sellers. The condo I am buying was recently redone but the peace of mind I got from having him do a thorough home inspection is unmatched. Ed is great with communication and followed up with the issues he found to ensure that all was taken care of before I signed the contract with the sellers. I cannot recommend Ed enough. Ed is the inspector for a home for which my husband and I are currently in the closing process. This is our first home purchase. From my very first phone call with Ed, I could tell that he was very experienced. I called around to a bunch of other places and ended up either reaching an appointment specialist that was not technical or someone that did not want to spend the time to make sure we understood his services and the overall process. Ed took the time to explain and teach. He showed up to the inspection early and began working right away. He is extremely knowledgeable and pointed out things that we would have never noticed and I’m not sure that anyone else would have been as detailed. He was very professional and was not bothered that the seller joined us on the inspection. His report was also timely and detailed. We have reached out to him a couple of times with questions following the inspection and he has always been able to take a few minutes to speak to us. He was definitely the best choice for us.

We're in the process of purchasing an older house in Queens and we had a great experience with Ed. He was meticulous, thorough, and patiently took the time to answer all of our questions in detail. The report he provided was exhaustive and packed with information on every single aspect of the house big and small. I highly recommend Inspector Ed. He was very profession, friendly and responsive. You can tell he has tons of experience and knowledge as soon as you meet him. My husband and I are very happy with his inspection. He did not only point out things that needed attention but bringing to light what we could do to fix anything and if something was just cosmetic or bigger. I also enjoyed that he was easy going. This is the inspector for you! Ed is able to simplify the technical. He will give you answers to your questions and clarify any follow ups. His report is long and thorough and comes back to you within 24 hours. He has inspected multiple houses for me over the years and has saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars. He also helped me understand and learn as we went through the homes. I come from an era where I believe Jordan is one of the greatest players in NBA history. You may say it’s someone else, but to me, Ed is the Jordan of home inspections.

Inspector Ed did 2 inspections for our family. I respect his wealth of knowledge, his kindness and honesty. During our 1st inspection within the 1st hour we decided to not go forward. Inspector Ed called later to check in on us and told us what to look out for before selecting our next house. He made himself available in case we needed advice. After our 2nd inspection we decided to go forward with the purchase. During every inspection he educated us about the house and gave us advice about ways to ensure our home was safe. Inspector Ed was AMAZING! He was super professional. He knew his stuff! He went through the entire house and gave a thorough report. He took his time and gave a thorough inspection. He explained everything to myself and my fiance. He even went through things we will need to know for when we move in, and for when we do the walk through before the closing. He taught us stuff about that house that we would have had no idea about. I am a teacher and I like to take notes but he also gave thorough report with pictures and descriptions of everything he inspected. It was 85 pages!!! Talk about a great guy! Super nice and made this process painless! He really knew his stuff and was very professional! I am so happy that he was recommended to us and I will absolutely recommend him to anyone! I just wanted to thank Ed for an amazing job inspecting our home before we bought it. I remember during the inspection Ed brought up to the builder that there was no drainage for the air handlers in the upstairs crawl space, which the builder corrected. I bring this up because recently another house not too far from mine, and also from the same builder, had a ceiling collapse because there was no drainage for their air handlers. They overflowed and soaked the ceilings. Anyway, just wanted to thank you again for your professionalism and thorough work and inspection!

We could not have found a better home inspector than Ed! From the moment we started communicating to make an appointment, he was nothing more than accommodating, even going out of his way to provide us a sample home inspection report that we requested. We used him for two home inspections and he was not only prompt and timely, he arrived an hour early to our appointments and started working immediately! He is the most thorough, educational, informative, caring and thoughtful home inspector, even adding his own personal recommendations and suggestions for us as first-time home buyers. He takes his time (expect a longer than usual inspection, 2-3 hours) but he doesn’t leave any stone unturned. He even gave us a receptacle ground tester for outlets and a tape measure as souvenirs after a really bad home inspection to cheer us up. During our first home inspection, he even provided an umbrella for us to stand outside with him in the rain and go more in-depth about the inspection and answer any more questions for us. We would recommend him to anyone who truly wants to make sure the home they are buying is worth it, and we would definitely use him again on the future! 10/10, hands down! Ed is an amazing house inspector, and probably one of the best home inspectors that you could find. I was hesitating to get a house inspector as many friends & parents did not have pleasing experience with other house inspectors. I called up 5 or 6 house inspectors and tried to grasp what they will be inspecting and what I could expect from them. Ed spent his time to explains the process, and what service I will be getting from his service. He spent good 20 minutes explaining and answering my questions. At the house inspection, he spent good 2-3 hours going over the entire exterior and interior of the house. He explains everything that he notes and takes photos of, so you know exactly what he sees. With him, you will see things that you did not pay much attention to in the first place. Additionally, knowing that I have a kid, he suggested some work that may be recommended with a kid as well. His report was detailed, nicely organized with photos. He might surprise you with a total pages of report. It was little over 100 pages. Overall, he is superb, and you cannot go wrong with him. Everyone who saw him work was impressed with his work, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking a good house inspector.

Ed is a master of his craft! There are folks who simply go through the motions of the job, and there are those who are passionate about the craft. Ed exudes passion and really cares for his customers. As a first time home buyer, Ed patiently explained the home inspection process and prepared me for what to expect. I appreciate his thoroughness, attention to detail, and his kindness in answering my questions before, during, and after the inspection. During my home inspection, Ed was able to detect that a fire had previously occurred at the inspected home by astutely noticing one frayed wire out of many normal wires inside the electrical panel. This single catch alone will prevent future disasters down the road and would have been easily missed by someone less attentive. If you're looking for a home inspector, Ed is your man!

My wife and I are 1st time home buyers. We called Inspector Ed because he was a friend I met at work. We got along because Ed is a serious but fun person. I was very happy with the service I received. He was able to explain everything very simply so that my wife and I could understand some of the things he was talking about. He spent a lot of time with us, and went over basically every square inch of the house. His exemplary knowledge of all things in the house was very impressive. Inspector Ed was prompt and even early for the inspection of our new home. He was knowledgeable, and extremely thorough. Inspector Ed took his time explaining what he was looking for, and taking care to answer all of our questions. He adhered to all of the Covid precautions, and it is easy to see how much he enjoys his job. As a first time home buyer I found a house I really liked and needed a good inspector. After a 2 days of research and many read reviews I decided to give a call to Ed. Right off the bat he was very courteous and explained the work he would be doing, availability, and rate after being asked. I went ahead and booked him within that same week (I called on a Thursday and he came on a Sunday!). He provided such a thorough and LONG inspection in which he found things I would never have thought of looking at. He made the entire experience feel smooth and I learned a ton. Unfortunately, after our inspection there were too many issues on the house (I honestly thought the house was perfect) and decided not to move on. HOWEVER. after 2 weeks I found another home I really liked and called Ed right away (literally the same night the price was agreed) and asked him if he was available that week. He once again made himself available, and did another fantastic job. Again, we found some issues in the home but they were fixable and I'm now in contract for the home. Ed is amazing and really hope you consider him for your home inspection! Best of luck home buyers.

Ed is the best there is. If you are a seller trying to hide something, Ed is your worst nightmare. He is incredibly thorough in his inspections, climbing into every nook and cranny he can fit into, and leaves no stone unturned. As first time home buyers, we had multiple inspections with Ed. I highly recommend Ed as he is extremely patient and thorough while conducting the inspection. This is not a fly by inspector as I have seen with other home inspectors, he takes his time to point details while asking you for any input and questions you may have and addresses them in detail. The report itself was written with great detail and accuracy including everything that he verbally detailed and explained in person as well. He will be used by other family and friends going forward and I don’t do google reviews but definitely felt inclined being it’s hard these days coming across a service where someone takes the pride as Ed does.

I felt compelled to review this review for Inspector Ed. I am not easily impressed nor do I usually leave/post reviews, however he was very informative and knowledgeable in all phases of home construction. He made me aware of many issues that possibly could have come about before putting my home on the market. As most of my family is in the construction industry and overlooked many small details that he made me aware of. I am absolutely sure that his knowledge and his insight prepared me and gave me an opportunity to make repairs that could have given prospective buyers negotiating room. In addition, he inspected the home I was purchasing and due to his knowledge and vast experience gave me the tools that I needed to negotiate a better price. Ed is a great man and a very serious professional. He is very detailed with his work. He spent almost three hours checking every little detail in my new house while we was explaining everything to me. He is very knowledgeable and does his job very well. I may be biased because Ed is my brother-in-law however all joking aside, I HIGHLY recommend Ed as a home inspector. When my husband and I were house hunting Ed inspected 3 homes for us. Inspector Ed did a very thorough inspection of our house and was very knowledgeable about every area of the house. Ed started with the exterior of the house from sidewalks and driveway to foundation to the roof walls excellent job. He did a termite inspection went over the gas meter, sprinkler system, drainage many more things too many too list. While doing inside the house he went over the gas heater, water heater and checked all base boards to check to see that they were working. He checked all major appliances, checked the plumbing went over the electrical panel and checked all outlets. He inspected the wood burning stove, air conditioning unit any many other things. Most impressive to me was that inspector Ed went over maintenance for almost everything in the house including gas burner, hot water heater, changing of aluminum wiring in the house to cleaning chimney and many other things. I highly recommend Inspector Ed and will use him again whenever we need a home inspection. Inspector Ed also told my wife and I we could call him with any questions pertaining to his report or questions about the house. Thanks again Inspector Ed

My husband and I worked with Ed for over a year and had him inspect three homes for us in Astoria, the last one being the one we landed on. Inspector Ed saved my family and I from investing in the wrong property's and helped us get our dream home. My wife booked an appointment at the above house where I instantly fell in love with everything cause it was everything we always wanted. Unfortunately, it was $90,000 out of our price range so we put in a unrealistically low bid and as we left I remember scolding my wife to please never bring me to any other houses out of our price range. We continued to search and found a few houses that we liked, but after Ed did his thorough walk through and reports. We were forced to walk away cause of the amount of damages and repairs needed that just wasn't worth it. After having one of the properties inspected Ed let us know he was going on vacation and will be back in two weeks. We then received a phone call from our dream house with a counter offer but things had to be done quickly or we would lose it. We called Inspector Ed and asked him to please do this last inspection before his vacation. Without hesitation (after asking his wife) he did the inspection and immediately left for vacation. He did our 60 page report while on his first day of vacation and even tho the house was a palace compared to what we were looking at. Because of his report we were able to have leverage and bargain the price way down to what we could afford and we now own our dream home. Buying a house is an investment and as such you should have someone looking out for your interests. Inspector Ed is definitely the man for the job. The best way to describe the inspection done by Ed, is THOROUGH. No stone was left unturned I have had inspections done in the past, and so much was missed. Definitely not the case when you hire Ed. Because he was able to find the few issues that the home had, we were able to negotiate the purchase price, and not get hit with surprises when we moved in. Eddie Chatterton is an excellent home inspector who helped save us thousands when we were looking at properties to buy. He is very knowledgeable knows what to look for.
